(héber), “Arcképek” (héber), "Anyagok a senkiföldjén"(héber), “Száműzetés” (magyar). Kurátor: Rusznák Rita 26th March 2010 – 25th April 2010 She was born in Slovakia in 1948 and has lived in Israel since 1949. She studied art at the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem from 1977-1981, and then graduated from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem with a magna cum laude master’s degree in 2008. She lives and works in Jerusalem. The theme of her current doctoral dissertation is the poetry of Avigdor Hameriri. Her works can be found in the permanent collection of the Israel Museum, the Haifa Museum, the National Museum (Washington D.C.I), at Ben Gurion University, Mishkenot Sha’ ananim, and in several public and private collections both inside and outside Israel. She has published four volumes of poetry, three in Hebrew and one in Hungarian: ”Words in Visuality.” (Hebrew), ”Portraits” (Hebrew),Materials in No-Man’s Land (Hebrew), Exile (Hungarian). Curator: Rita Rusznák 2010. január 18 - 2010. március 22. A kiállítás anyagát Buchenwald és Mittelbau-Dora Emlékhely Alapítvány munkatársai gyűjtötték és állították össze. A kiállított anyag, a videofelvételek, fényképek, használati tárgyak sajátos nézőpontból mutatják be az ott történteket. A kiállítás Buchenwald asszonyaira, lányaira, az ő személyes történetükre koncentrál. Amikor Goethe egykori szerelme, Charlotte Kestner, akiről a Wertherben Charlotte figuráját mintázta, ellátogatott Weimarba, az élet szépségét, a társasági életet élvezte; Buchenwald elfeledett asszonyainak a szenvedés jutott, és a túlélésért küzdöttek. Mégis van valami közös bennük: az élet szeretete, amit Buchenwald asszonyai közhelyből valósággá formáltak. Túlélők visszaemlékezéseit, személyes tárgyait, tanúvallomásait ismerhetjük meg. A történelemkönyvekből megtanult számadatok arcokká válnak, személyes ismerősökké. - rövidített változat) Kurátor: Ramóna Bräu 18th January 2010 – 22nd March 2010 The material of the exhibition was collected and compiled by the staff of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorial Foundation. The exhibited material, the videos, photos and household objects show what happened there from a special perspective. The exibition focuses on the women, girls of Buchenwald, and their personal stories. When Charlotte Kestner, the former love of Goethe, from whom he modeled the character of Charlotte in Werther, visited Weimar, she enjoyed the beauty of life and social life. The forgotten women of Buchenwald got suffering and struggled to survive.Yet they have something in common: the love of life, that was transformed by the women of Buchenwald from cliche into reality. We can learn about the survivors’ recollections, personal belongings and testimonies. The figures we learn in history books become faces, personal acquaintances. In Hungary, this exhibition is even more important than elsewhere, since most of Buchenwald’s women were deported from Hungary. Remembrance also expresses belief. beliefe in the facts that mankind and individual people learn from the past, that education, culture and technical civilization still have an ennobling power, and that Ghoethe’s Weimar is stronger than the Buchenwald of the Nazis. (The speech of Prof. Dr. Volkhard Knigge, Director of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorial Foundation, was delivered by the curator, Ramona Bräu. – abridged version). Európai Iskolát 1945-ben alapította Mezei Árpád és testvére Pán Imre, Gegesi Kiss Pál, Kállai Ernő és Kassák Lajos. Ők szervezői és elméleti megalapozói voltak a művészeti csoportosulásnak, amely a két világháború közötti modernista törekvések folytatásának tekinthető. Nem csak művészetelméleti téren, hanem tagjai részben azok közül a művészek közül kerültek ki, akik Kassák Munka Köréhez csatlakoztak a 20-as évek végén, vagy a 30-as években Szentendrén csoportosultak a progresszív irányzatot követő festők körül. Voltak közöttük, akik a Szocialista Művészek Csoportjához is tartoztak. Néhányan már a 30-as évek végén, 40-es évek elején nonfiguratív műveket alkottak, elsősorban a francia Abstraction – Creation mozgalom hatására. A csoport művésztagjai: Anna Margit,Ámos Imre, Barcsay Jenő, Barta Lajos, Bálint Endre, Bán Béla, Bokros Birman Dezső, Czóbel Béla, Egry József, Fekete Nagy Béla, Forgács-Hann Erzsébet, Gadányi Jenő, Gyarmati Tihamér, Jakovits József, Korniss Dezső, Lossonczy Ibolya, Lossonczy Tamás, Makarius Sameer, Márffy Ödön, Marosán Gyula, Martinszky János, Martyn Ferenc, Rozsda Endre, Schubert Ernő, Szántó Piroska, Vajda Júlia,Valda Lajos, Vilt Tibor,Zemplényi Magda. 2009. augusztus 24 – 2009. szeptember 13. Robert Capa a sajtófotózás legendája. A milicista halála a spanyol köztársaságiak bukását foglalja össze egyetlen képben, a normandiai partraszállás fotói a D-day történelmi jelentőségét. Az 1948-50-ben Izraelben készült fotói pedig a zsidó állam megszületésének mítoszát és mindennapjait mutatják be, amit a kiállítás mottójaként választott, Nehemiás próféta könyvében olvasható idézettel lehet jellemezni: „Akik a falon építettek s akik a terhet magukra rakva vitték – egyik kezével dolgozott a munkán, a másik pedig tartotta a fegyvert” (Nehemia, 4,11). Az „Izrael 1948 – Robert Capa szemével” ezen 52 fénykép alapján próbálja bemutatni, hogyan ragadta meg Robert Capa a zsidó állam születésének pillanatait, első lépéseit; hogyan látta a mítoszt és a valóságot: a bevándorlók érkezését, a mindennapi életét, munkáját és a harcokat, az első arab-izraeli háború összecsapásait, életképeit. Kurátor: Páldi Lívia 24th August 2009 – 13th Spetember 2009 Robert Capa is a legend in press photography. What made him a legend was that he saw and presented the myth in reality and the reality in myth; everyday life in history and history in everyday life. The Death of a Loyalist Militiaman sums up the fall of the Spanish Republicans in one single image, while the photographs of the disembarkation of Normandy show the historical significance of D-Day. His photos taken in Israel in 1948-50, show the myth and daily life of the birth of the Jewish state, which can be described by a quote in the book of the prophet Nehemiah, chosen as the motto of the exhibition: ”They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought int he work, and with the other hand held a weapon” (Nehemiah 4.11). The exhibition attempts to show, based on these 52 photographs, how Robert Capa captured the moments the birth and the first steps of the Jewish state; how he saw myth and reality: the arrival of immigrants, their everyday life, work and struggles, the clashes and images of the first Arab-Israeli war. Curator: Lívia Páldi 2009. június 10 – 2009. augusztus 10. A kiállítás a holokauszt eddig kevéssé ismert dimenzióját mutatja be: két bátor portugál diplomata tevékenységét, akik 1944-ben Budapesten, a német megszállást követően kiálltak a zsidók és a politikai meggyőződésük miatt üldözöttek mellett. A fotók a menekültek hétköznapjairól készített megrendítő pillanatfelvételek. Kurátor: Faragó Vera 10th June 2009 – 10th August 2009 The exhibition presents the previously little-known dimension of the Holocaust: the activities of two brave Portuguese diplomats who stood up for Jews and those persecuted for their political beliefs in Budapest in 1944, following the German occupation. Sampayo Garrido and his successor Teixeira Branquinho recognized that the extraordinary historical situation – the rampage of fascist terror – demands extraordinary measures. Temporary Portuguese individual and group passports were issued to a thousand persecuted Hungarians, mostly Jews.At the exhibition, we present original telegrams and documents that prove how they were coping. The curiosity of the exhibition are the original recordings made in Lisbon in 1940/41, which were already on display at an exhibition on a similar themeheld in Portugal in 2000. The photos are poignant snapshots of the everyday lives of refugees. Curator: Vera Faragó 2009. március 17 – 2009. július 12. A Rejtő Jenő (1905-1943) emlékét megidéző tárlat több szempontból is rendhagyónak tekinthettük. A hagyományos rész korabeli plakátokkal, színlapokkal, fotókkal és kávéházi enteriőrrel idézte meg a ’30-as évek pesti hangulatát, s benne Rejtő Jenőt, a sikeres színpadi és kabarészerzőt, az író alkotótársait, a kor színházi világát. A legendákkal terhes, bizonytalan életrajz állomásait a kevés fennmaradt tárgyi emlékkel dokumentálta, egynémely legendát pedig egyenest megcáfolt. Így láthatók voltak a nagyközönség előtt ismeretlen kéziratok, hivatalos okmányok, első kiadások. Külön érdekesség a legtöbb Rejtő-ponyvát megjelentető Nova kiadó megannyi könyvborítója, ill. az 1950-es években, Izraelben kiadott magyar, német és ivrit nyelvű Rejtő-füzetkék. Az író szellemiségét tiszteletlenül is tiszteletben tartó tárlat számos rendhagyó motívumot vonultatott föl, melyek egy része a kriminalisztikában járatosak előtt lehet ismerős (kocsmai „önvédelmi” eszközök, bilincsgirland, filmfüggöny, csontvázbalett stb.). Rejtő-i szellemben fogant a kiállítás látványos – olykor szándékoltan giccsbehajló – része, melyben a ponyvaregényekből ismerős helyszínek (matrózkocsma, dzsungel stb.) Kurátorok: Rusznák Rita és Thuróczy Gergely (Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeum) 17th March 2009 – 12th July 2009 The exhibition commemorating Jenő Rejtő (1905-1943) could be considered unusual in several respects. The traditional part evoked the atmosphere of Pest in the 1930s, including Jenő Rejtő, the successful stage and cabaret writer, the co-creators of the author and the theatrical world of the time with contemporary posters, show bills, photos and the interior of a cafe. He documented the stages of the legendary, uncertain biography with the few surviving artifacts and refuted some of the legends. Thus, unknown manuscripts, official documents and first editions unknown to the general public became visible to the public. The many book covers of Nova Publishers, the company that published the most Rejtő novels, and the Rejtő-booklets published in Israel in the 1950's in Hungarian, German, and Hebrew, are of particular interest. Respecting the writers spirit, the exhibition featureda number of unusual motifs, some of which may be familiar to those familiar with criminalistics (pub ”self-defence” tools, handcuffs, movie curtains, ballet skeleton, etc.). Conceived in the spirit of Rejtő, the spectacular – sometimes intentionally kitsch-bent part of the exhibition, in which the familiar locations (sailors’ pubs, jungles, etc.) and characters of his novels brought to life the writer’s inimitable, absurdly humorous world. In the last room of the exhibition, the well-known animation director, Ferenc Varsányi, made an animated documentary ( an animated documentary legendry, to be exact) ”Once Upon a Time a Novel Hero Named P. Howard”, paying tribute to the witer. Curators: Rita Rusznák and Gergely Túróczy (Petőfi Literary Museum) 2008. november 26 – 2008. február 1. Az átfogó mű elkészültéhez a gondolatot a Nagy Hevra Kadisa kéziratos könyve és Schőner Alfréd 1984-es doktori disszertációja adta. Az alkotást – Ungvári Tamás ajánlásával, Oláh János szerkesztésében – a Gabbiano Print Kft adta ki 2008-ban. A kötet nem csupán a zsidó élet szokásait, a Chevra Kadisák (Szent Egyletek) működését, tagjainak megválasztását mutatja be részletesen, hanem a XVIII. században élt zsidók félelmeiről, hiedelmeiről is tudósít. A kortörténeti dokumentumként is értékelhető könyvet ismeretlen szerzők feltehetőleg 1792-ben kezdték írni. A művészettörténeti tanulmány készítéséhez a kor prominens alakjai járultak hozzá. A régi zsidó közösség életét bemutató könyv köré épülő installáció átvezetett minket a művészettörténeti elemzés világába. Így az első teremben az archív fotókon keresztül korabeli zsidó emlékeket bemutató slideshowt a Múzeum gyűjteményét képező nagykanizsai műtárgyak kiállítása követte. Kurátor: Rusznák Rita 26th November 2008 – 1st February 2009 In order to complete the comprehensive work, the idea was given by the manuscript book of the Great Chevra Kadisha, and the 1984 doctoral dissertation of Alfréd Schőner. The work was published in 2008 by Gabbiano Print Kft. on the recommendation of Tamás Ungvári and edited by János Oláh. The volume presents not only the customs of Jewish life, the operation of Chevra Kadishas (Holy Societies), and the election of their members, but it also reports on the fears and beliefs of the Jews who lived in the 18th century.Unknown authors began to write the book, which can be considered a historical document, probably in 1792. The main theme of the book is Hell (Valley of Hinnom, Gehenna), and the gradually evolving Jewish worldview related to it, which was later influenced by the motif of the journey to Hell in Christian literature. The talented creator, the sofer, formulated an independent interpretive text in most of the compositions. In the editors we can get to know people who are sensitive to details, experts of Kabbalistic literature and religion studies and open-minded.The astonishing illustrations, especially the suffering of the dead in hell, are characterized by intense, realistic use of colour and form perception. An interesting feature of the work is that the frame ornaments of the depictions folk ans local artistic ornamental elements of the given era, thus making the complex work an authentic document of the Judaism and beliefs. The book is also proof that Nagykanizsa once had a serious, long-standing Jewish community. Prominent figures of the era contributed to the study of art history. The installation, built around the book on the life of the old Jewish community led us to the world of art history analysis. Thus, in the first room, the slideshow presenting contemporary Jewish memories through archive photos was followed by an exhibition of the works of art from Nagykanizsa from the museum’s collection. Művészetéhez a kulcsot a rá nagy hatást gyakorló izraeli táj, a sivatag – a vizet és a növények zöldjét nélkülöző – színekben gazdag látványa kínálja. A verssorok magyarul Benedek István Gábor különlegességnek számító hexameteres fordításában voltak olvashatók. 29th August 2008 – 30th September 2008 Jonathan Robert Windmüller studied scuplture and environmental design at the Gerrit-Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. From 1974 to 1978,he worked as a visiting professor at the Bezal’el Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, and has lived in Germany since 1980.The key to his art, which has a great influence on him, is the Israeli landscape, the colorful view of the desert that lacks water and the green of plants. From 1970 to 1990 he was primarily involved in environmental planning, and since 1999 he has been making large-scale ”landscapes”, painted with earth colours and earth paints, topographies created by himself. He continued this world when he painted the Song of Songs series, using Israeli soil and sand for colouring. The lines of this beautiful love and even erotic poem appear in Jonathan’s large-scale ”landscapes” as artistic calligraphy in Hebrew. The biblical text and the biblical landscape form a special harmony in the pictures. It’s about the clues, the traces of memories, emotions, thoughts. The traces of the culure in which, 2600 years ago, when Solomon’s poem was born, eroticism expressed the fundamental experience of human existence. Poetry and light-heartedness characterize this art {…},” the artist said of the images and the Song of Songs that inspired him. The verses could be read in the special hexametric translation of Gábor Benedek in Hungarian language. 2008. Akik Mordecháj Anielewicz vezetésével hősies harcot vívtak a nácikkal. S a biztos halál tudatában is bátran vállalták az ellenállást. (Ezáltal példát is mutatott a vilnai gettónak Litvániában, ahol hasonló próbálkozás zajlott le.) A varsói Muranow negyedet, (ez a zsidónegyed) a felkelés után a földdel tették egyenlővé a németek. A gettólázadás vezetése a Mila utca 18-ban működött halálukig. A háború után Varsóban a zsidó ellenállás hőseinek abból a márványból állítottak emlékművet, amit annak idején állítólag Hitler hozatott Varsóban, hogy abból saját emlékművét faragják majd ki. A lengyel történelmi emlékezet kegyelettel megkülönbözteti a hei gettólázadást a későbbi lengyel felkeléstől. (B. Turán Róbert) Kurátor: B. Turán Róbert 17th April 2008 – 12th June 2008 The Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943 saved the honour of the Jewry in Europe. With the help of the Polish resistance the last (not yet deported) young Jews got some weapons through the Warsaw sewer system. They, under the leadership of Mordechai Anielewicz, fought a heroic battle with the Nazis. And even int he consciousness of certain death they bravely chose resistance.(In doing so, they set an example to the Vilnius ghetto in Lithuania, where a similar attempt was made.) Warsaw’s Muranow district (the Jewish quarter)was razed to the ground by the Germans after the uprising. The leadership of the ghetto uprising operated 18 Mila Street until their deaths. After the was, a monument to the heroes of the Jewish resistance was erected in Warsaw from the marble Hitler had allegedly brought to Warsaw at the time to have his own monument carved out of it. Polish historical remembrance distinguishes between the ghetto uprising from the later Polish uprising. There were to types of Polish underground resistance groups: the Armia Krajowa (Home Army) and the Armia Ludowa (People’s Army). The former had an English connection, and the other received Soviet support. (After the war, it was in an exclusive position.) Paradoxically, the Armia Krajowa supported the ghetto uprising by smuggling weapons into the ghetto through the sewers in 1943. (Róbert B. Turán) Curator: Róbert B. Turán |
