We have a large variety of different programs and workshops for children, students, young adults, teachers and Archives and Museum professionals. The target group of the programs can discern different categories, for example by age or by connections with Judaism or profession (we also offer programs or training for educators or museum professionals). The museum education in our institute includes all of these programs, so we have to unify them according to the same principles. We have programs in the building of Museum and Archives and we also have some projects outside of our buildings (e.g. online activities, special workshops etc.). One of the important missions of our institution is to be available and understandable for as many visitors as possible. We welcome members of the Jewish community, Jewish and non-Jewish school groups, tourists from Hungary and abroad. As a Jewish Museum, we have to face the debates on Judaism in general, and somehow we have to fight against prejudices and anti-Semitism as well. Finally it is also important to elicit to our Hungarian visitors that the Jewish heritage and culture is part of our common national heritage. Thus we have to use an approach to museum educational methodology that is understandable for our diverse group of visitors.
